Anti-Corruption Drive: Kazi Nabil’s Properties Seized, Millions in US Frozen

A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of 362.43 acres of land, seven apartments, and several houses belonging to former Jashore-3 MP and   Jemcon Group owner Kazi Nabil Ahmed, his family members, and affiliated entities.

Additionally, the court has ordered the freezing of U.S.-based investments worth USD 6,139,031 (approximately BDT 745.2 million) linked to Kazi Anis Ahmed, a member of the same family.

The order was issued on Thursday (April 24) by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Breakdown of the Seized Properties:

In Kazi Nabil Ahmed’s Name:

  • 34.63 acres in Tetulia, Panchagarh

  • 25.55 acres in Boda, Panchagarh

  • 10.08 acres in Panchagarh Sadar

  • 246 acres in Khulna

  • 26.51 acres in Rupsa, Khulna

  • 11 decimals of land and one-third of a six-story building in Dhanmondi, Dhaka

  • Two plots in Mohammadpur, Dhaka

  • One apartment in Gulshan, Dhaka

In the Name of His Deceased Father, Kazi Shahed Ahmed:

  • 16.5 decimals of land with a six-story building in Dhanmondi

  • Two-story house and land in Jashore

  • 15.98 acres in Kazipara, Jashore

  • 2.24 acres in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar

In the Name of His Mother, Amina Ahmed:

  • Three apartments in Dhanmondi

  • 1.44 acres of land in Saint Martin’s Island, Cox’s Bazar

In the Name of His Brother, Kazi Anis Ahmed:

  • One-third of a six-story building on 11 decimals of land in Dhanmondi

  • One apartment in Gulshan

In the Name of Another Brother, Kazi Inam Ahmed:

  • One-third of a six-story building on 11 decimals of land in Dhanmondi

  • Two additional apartments in Dhanmondi and Gulshan

The ACC is currently investigating the sources of these assets and their connection to alleged financial irregularities.
