BCB Official Ikram Chowdhury Dies During Bangladesh-Zimbabwe Test in Sylhet

Ikram Chowdhury, a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official, passed away while on duty during the ongoing Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. He was serving as a member of the BCB’s Security Committee and was overseeing safety measures for the match.

According to the BCB, Ikram suffered a cardiac arrest while inspecting the venue on the morning of April 23 as part of the bomb disposal unit’s standard security operations. He was 50 years old.

After falling ill, he was rushed to Al Haramain Hospital in Sylhet, where he was later pronounced dead. The BCB has expressed deep sorrow over his untimely demise.

Ikram had been working with the BCB Security Committee since 2014 and was serving as the security coordinator at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. He was also a seasoned sports organizer with years of experience in the field.
