Housewife Sathi Akter Found Murdered in Jashore’s Monirampur, Husband Missing

Police have recovered the body of a housewife, Sathi Akter, with her throat slit from her home in Monirampur upazila of Jashore. The incident took place on Monday (April 28) at a rice mill shed owned by Mintu Sardar near Aftab Munshi Mor in Khatuyadanga village under Durbar Danga Union.

The deceased, Sathi Akter, was the first wife of Mizanur Rahman Mintu, a rice mill worker from the same village. Following the incident, both Mintu and his second wife have gone into hiding.

Nur Mohammad Gazi, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Monirampur Police Station, said that locals noticed Mintu’s room locked from the inside on Monday morning. Growing suspicious, they broke open the door and discovered Sathi’s body inside. They immediately informed the police, who later recovered the body and sent it to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.

OC Nur Mohammad Gazi further stated that police have launched a manhunt to arrest Mintu and his second wife, who fled after the incident.
