Conspiracy to Expel Hindus from the Country: Speakers at Human Chain in Jashore

-

A human chain protest was organized in front of the Jashore Press Club today by the Jashore District Puja Celebration Council, in response to a series of recent incidents: the rape of a woman in Muradnagar, Cumilla; the arrest of a Hindu barber father and son in Lalmonirhat over allegations of religious defamation; and the desecration of a Hindu idol in Khilkhet, Dhaka.

Presided over by Council President Dipankar Das Ratan, the hour-long demonstration featured speeches by Vice President Dulal Samaddar, General Secretary Tapan Kumar Ghosh, Joint Secretary Ratan Acharya, and others.

Speakers expressed deep concern over increasing incidents of violence and injustice against members of the Hindu community following the change in government on August 5. They noted that despite hopes for peace, attacks on temples and the oppression of the Sanatan (Hindu) community have intensified.

“There is a conspiracy to drive Hindus out of this country,” they warned. “We were born in this land, and we want to live here with dignity.”

The speakers also condemned the recent incident in Moshihati village of Abhaynagar, Jashore, where homes of Sanatan followers were burned following a murder. They demanded proper investigation and justice for the victims.
