Another person has died from COVID-19 in Jashore. The deceased, Yusuf Ali, was a resident of Mahmudkati village in Monirampur upazila and the son of Golam Mostafa. He passed away around 12:30 AM on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at Jashore General Hospital.
Yusuf Ali was admitted to the hospital on June 13 with breathing difficulties and kidney complications. Initially, he was being treated in the medical ward. However, as his condition worsened, he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on June 14.
On Wednesday afternoon, he gave a sample for COVID-19 testing at a private hospital in the city. Later that night, the hospital authorities confirmed that his test result came back positive. Unfortunately, he passed away before doctors could begin COVID-specific treatment.
This marks the second death in Jashore during the second wave of the coronavirus outbreak. Additionally, three more patients suspected of having COVID-19 are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, according to hospital sources.
